Common questions
What makes the Living One approach to well-being different from others?
Living One stands firmly behind its belief that caregivers—specifically parents, educators and other adults who care for children—need to be provided a type of care that is equal in value to the essential role they play in our society. Bound by our mission to care for these essential workers through excavating the complex challenges that daily life presents, Living One is able to distinguish itself from others in the wellness and parenting communities by offering tools that point the way to a simpler, more human existence for caregivers; one that truly cares for them, not just so they can keep caring for others, but especially so that they can learn to feel safe enough to enjoy the wonder of living. We consider this to be especially important at a time when life may seem complicated, and anything but simple.
Built upon a foundation of science and intuition—and bolstered by a large helping of play—our unique solutions provide exactly what’s needed to get to the heart of care, leaving parents and educators feeling an energy of joy, ease and trust. In other words, the Living One approach calls for more being and less doing. It highlights an intentionally slow, purposeful pace, so that with a little help from our tools, caregivers won’t need anything more. It is our hope that the Living One approach to well-being will guide caregivers closer to accessing their innate creativity, seeing wonder in the small moments, and valuing their title so that they may live in a genuine state of fulfillment, exactly as they are.
Who can benefit from Living One’s Tools for Living?
All offerings from Living One are especially supportive of parents and educators, who not only have the greatest impact on the lives of children, but who are also in desperate need of nurturance themselves.
Additionally, our offerings are designed for nannies, babysitters, couples, workplace leaders, therapists, human development specialists, and anyone interested in learning how to enjoy the wonder of living.
While our products are not specifically designed to be children's toys, they can be used, with support, by children of all ages. Young people, ages 5 and up, will often be able to access the magic of our offerings, and if playing with a child younger than 5 years old, we recommend stepping into an attitude of flexibility, making the experience more about connection, practice, and exploring the ritual act of prioritizing well-being.
What is the meaning of the shapes?
Our custom designed Library of Shapes is symbolic of the ever-evolving nature of our humanness, as well as the constantly-changing, moving and shifting states of our emotions. The shapes are meant to serve as dynamic, joyful reminders that change is part of the very core of our human existence, and that without change, there can be no progress.
