Ahhh, the Looking Glasses—one of the star supports from The Tool for Connection.

We created these rose-colored cuties with the intention of helping caregivers see through a more empathetic lens during moments of turmoil, while also providing encouragement to uphold boundaries. The Looking Glasses serve as an imagination-activating, perception-shifting aid, because we care more about seeing the needs that lie beneath the behavior, rather than obsessing over the behavior itself.

I know how easy it can be to get stuck in the dark tunnel of reactivity while in the throes of caregiving. I needed help plucking myself out of the raging battle in my brain, so I could return to the empathy and perspective that was waiting for me in the body.

These glasses are powerful. When you choose to Look Again, you're choosing to slow down, instead of to react. What you see may not always be rosy, but, no matter how challenging the moment, you'll be able to Look Again with newfound awareness and courage that will carry you through it, so your next move can be a connected one.

Using the Looking Glasses is like a new kind of creative practice, and one that will change the way you encounter those inevitably hard caregiving moments. All you have to do is put them on.
