Silly though it seems, it's only quite recently that I've come to realize how essential connection is — yes, for general well-being, but also in support of a balanced nervous system. 

As I was living through the [long] era of my own very discombobulated nervous system, I knew I needed to connect with my children, my partner, and myself, and yet I found that I didn't know how to do it authentically, consistently, or simply.
